Benfield Consolidates in Westport

Reinsurance Company Leases 38,260 SF

Benfield Blanch, a reinsurance and risk advisory business of Benfield Group, leased 38,260 square feet at the Nyala Farms Corporate Center in Westport, CT. The company will occupy the entire second floor of 29,185 square feet and 9,075 square feet on the first floor in Building 100 of the complex. The tenant is relocating and consolidating offices currently located in Dallas and Westport. Occupancy is scheduled for September 2002 and the term of the lease is 10 years. Nyala Farms Corporate Center is a five-building, 372,207- square-foot office complex on 53 acres. Major tenants in the complex include Phibro Energy, Deloitte & Touche, Pequot Capital, Playtex, Life Care, and Smith Barney. Jeffrey Gage and Ed Tonnessen, both of Albert B. Ashforth, represented the owner in the transaction. Peter Hennessy and Paul Formichelli of The Staubach Company represented the tenant.
