Gart Sports Shoots and Scores

Denver-based Gart Sports signed a 265,000-square-foot lease at Windham Lakes VI, at 1450 Lakeview Drive, in Romeoville, IL. Gart Sports is the parent company of sporting good stores Gart Sports, Sportmart and Oshman’s Supersports USA. The company will expand from 147,000 square feet to 265,000 square feet when it relocates Sportmarts' Midwest distribution center from International Center in Woodridge to the new facility in Romeoville. Gart Sports’ lease represents nearly 60% of the 453,568 square feet of the speculative property in Windham Lakes VI. The property is one of several industrial facilities located at Windham Lakes Business Park, Panattoni Development Co.’s 450-acre mixed-use development. Insignia/ESG’s Midwest Industrial Services Group represented Gart in the lease negotiations. Insignia/ESG director Jeff Fischer, from the industrial/office division in Chicago, represented Gart Sports. Associate director Mark Moran, also from the same division, represented Panattoni Development.
