AT&T and Pharmacia have entered into a contract whereby Pharmacia will purchase AT&T's headquarters complex in Basking Ridge, NJ for $200 million. The two companies expect the transaction to close by July. As part of the agreement, AT&T will continue to occupy the facility, located at 295 North Maple Ave., until November 2002. Marc Rosenberg of Cushman & Wakefield Inc. is representing AT&T in the sale transaction. The 1.3 million square-foot facility is located on 140 manicured acres. The facility contains such amenities as 51 conference rooms, a full service cafeteria, a fitness center, a helipad and a 7-acre pond. Pharmacia's current headquarters is made up of 3 campuses only 10 miles from its soon to be home in Basking Ridge. The pharmaceutical company, which has reached capacity in those 3 campuses with 2,500 employees, will consolidate those 3 campuses into the former AT&T facility. The AT&T facility can accomodate 4,000 workers and has 3,900 parking spaces.
