Like other major industrial markets, Calgary experienced a significant boom in construction activity related to the sudden change in inventory stockpiling during the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to near-instant spikes in absorption, or net occupancy, and eventually sparked the most aggressive construction cycle in Calgary’s recent history.
