The Brooklyn Public Library, one of the nation's largest library systems serving more than 2.6 million people who call New York's most populous borough home, has started construction on a two-story, 11,000-square-foot Canarsie branch. The facility at 1580 Rockaway Parkway will be among the first mass timber public buildings in New York City, with completion targeted for August 2027.
