FCL Builds Additional Facility for Jel Sert

FCL Builders Inc. has completed an 208,000-square-foot facility for the Jel Sert Co. in suburban West Chicago, IL. Jel Sert is a producer and seller of more freezer pops than any other company in the world. Its expansive product line includes Wyler’s and Flavor-Aid drink mixes, Fla-Vor-Ice, Pop Ice Freezer Pops, and Royal puddings and gelatins. The new building is situated on 9.16-acre site at located at 444 Charles Court. The structure features 30’ clear ceiling heights, 28 truck docks, gas fired unit heaters, an ESFR sprinkler system and a 170-car parking lot. Jel Sert is utilizing 203,000 square feet for warehousing and the remaining 5,000 square feet for office usage. Carie Carney, senior project manager, Larry Gamm, project manager, and Monica Subunnanone, assistant project manager, oversaw construction for FCL. Jack D. Pickett & Associates was the architect and Marziani Enterprises was the construction manager.
