The New England Research Institute, a non-profit organization, has signed a renewal and expansion lease for 51,000 square feet at 7-9 Galen St. in Watertown. This is a 7-year renewal for 48,000 square feet and an expansion of 3,000 square feet for a total of 51,000 square feet. 7-9 Galen is a 3-story Class-B brick mill building, built in 1880 and renovated more than 100 years later. It measures 114,040 square feet, and features amenities such as a jogging path, on site management, and balconies overlooking a waterfront site. Neil Ross, Brooks Murphy and Neil Ross of The Staubach Co. brokered both sides of the deal, representing New England Research Institute and working directly with building owner HUB Properties LLC. The New England Research Institute performs a variety of medical research, including the design of new medical devices.
