Stemming from Huntsville, Alabama’s robust multifamily supply, the region’s apartment vacancy rate has remained elevated, while multifamily property owners are finding it challenging to raise rents. Over the past four quarters, average asking rents have declined by about -2.6% while rampant construction over the past several years produced an oversupply.
