Magellan Sets Anchor in Riverport

Magellan Health Services, a Columbia, MD-based leader in employee assistance programs and managed behavioral health care, signed a 10-year lease to occupy a 254,000- square-foot office building in the Riverport Commons development in Maryland Heights, MO. Located at 14100 Riverport Drive, this facility will be the firm's national technology and customer care center. With the recent ground breaking of January 2002, the facility is expected to be complete in 4th quarter of this year. 500 new jobs and 1,400 current jobs will remain as a result of this deal. The 3-story concrete tilt-up structure, being constructed by Clayco Construction Co., will be the second building constructed at Riverport Commons. The customer care center will include a full service cafeteria, exercise facilities, state of the art computer and communication rooms with UPS generator backup systems. Larry Chapman represented his company, Tri-Star Business Communities, the owner of Riverport Commons, in the deal. Dennis Desantis and Joe Bannister of Cushman & Wakefield of Missouri represented Magellan Health Services.
