Axel Krueger and Diego Di Gaetano both started general manager roles at hotel brand Art’otel, which is owned by PPHE Hotel Group. Krueger is the GM at at the 357-room Art’otel London Hoxton, which opened on April 24 as London’s second hotel for the brand. Di Gaetano is the GM at the 99-room Art’otel Rome Piazza Sallustio, which plans to open before the end of the year.

Beatriz Orta has returned to RBH Hospitality Management, this time as operations director. She was a general manager at the firm but four years ago left to become general manager at the 340-room Canopy by Hilton London City.

Uzmaa Patel has been named director of sales and marketing at the 93-room ME Dubai by Meliá, in the Business Bay district of Dubai. She is returning to the United Arab Emirates after a role of director of sales and events at the Nobu London Shoreditch.

Kieran Twomey been appointed regional head of operations of the Middle East, India, Indian Ocean, Europe and the Americas at Shangri-La Group. He has 25 years under his belt with the firm, including roles in China, Malaysia and Thailand.

Jim Crawford Smyth has been named general manager at the 20-room The Foundry in Belfast, which is owned by Ducales Capital and operated by RBH. The hotel is due to open in May.

Jean-Marie Le Gall has been appointed general manager of the 26-room The Woodward in Geneva. Owned by Oetker Collection, the hotel is located on the shores of Lake Geneva.

George Georgousis been named as general manager of the 21-room Grace Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection, on the Greek island of Santorini. The seasonal hotel opened in 2024 on April 15. Georgousis’ previous roles have seen him work at such hotels as The St. Regis, Rome.

Gareth Byrne has been named as general manager at the 120-room Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, following a few months in an interim capacity. His previous role was as general manager at Red Carnation Hotels’ Duke of Richmond Hotel on the Channel Island’s isle of Guernsey.

Marcello Ventisei has been promoted to cluster general manager at IHG Hotels & Resorts. He is responsible for two hotels in Glasgow, the Voco Grand Central Hotel, which he managed since July 2023, and the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel.

Peter Walker been named as general manager at the 34-room Fonab Castle Hotel & Spa in Pitlochry, Scotland. He arrived from being managing director at the hotel Maryculter House, Aberdeen.
