Torque Logistics, the end-to-end supply chain specialist, has finalised a deal to occupy a major Wakefield warehouse owned by Copley Point, CoStar News can reveal.
Market sources said the firm has signed to take the whole of California 400, a circa 400,000-square-foot unit next to the M62 at junction 31 in Castleford.
They added that Torque, which has nine warehouses across the UK and began in Bramley, Yorkshire, will sign a 15-year deal at a rent of around £6.25 per square foot.
The deal is understood to be the largest of the year so far in Wakefield, with a number of larger warehouse deals also being announced this month, including Waitrose committing to 360,000 square feet in Bristol.
Other units leased by Torque across the country include a circa 100,000-square-foot shed in Wigan on Challenge Way and a smaller site next to Heathrow Airport in London at The Heston Centre.
The company's customers include London football club Arsenal FC, Triumph Motorcycles, sportswear group Sweaty Beatty and Crew Clothing Company, according to its website.
CBRE and Carter Towler are joint agents at the scheme. Carter Towler, CBRE and Copley Point were approached for comment.
