Hilton has made a major push to its Spark by Hilton brand in the United Kingdom by signing 10 regional hotels with a total of 672 rooms with London-based owner AG Hotels Group.
The hotels are all scheduled to open before 2028 and include the 100-room Spark by Hilton Derby Station; 99-room Spark by Hilton Peterborough Norman Cross; 79-room Spark by Hilton Washington Newcastle South; 77-room Spark by Hilton Wakefield South; 63-room Spark by Hilton Sunderland Northern Spire Bridge; 53-room Spark by Hilton Runcorn; 51-room Spark by Hilton Cardiff North; 51-room Spark by Hilton Doncaster East; 51-room Spark by Hilton Hull Central; and 48-room Spark by Hilton Coventry Walsgrave.
The Cardiff addition marks the brand’s debut in Wales.
Girish Grover, AG’s founder and CEO, said his firm’s strategy is “to build a scaled, high-quality hospitality platform by acquiring, repositioning and investing in well-located hotels across the U.K., combining strong operational capability with leading global brands.”
Hilton also signed two other U.K. hotels this week, including the debut of its Tapestry Collection by Hilton soft brand in London. Hilton agreed to terms with owner Gama Holdings to convert the 138-room London Bridge Hotel to a Tapestry Collection.
According to CoStar, that hotel currently has 138 rooms, but Hilton plans to increase the property's room count to 153 when it reopens in early 2028 after a £12 million renovation.
Lastly, Hilton also agreed with SMAR Hotels Ltd. to debut its Spark brand in Scotland with the 53-room Spark by Hilton Dunfermline, a few miles north of the Forth Bridge. That hotel is scheduled to open by the end of this year.
Spark by Hilton has more than 275 hotels across the globe, with more than 200 in its development pipeline.
