Decade of Development Reshapes Sun Belt Hotel Landscape

Of the 655 hospitality submarkets tracked in the U.S. by STR, CoStar's hospitality analytics firm, the vast majority, around 550, recorded supply growth over the past 10 years. During that time, hotel developers have been most active in the state of Texas and New York City, but even those areas were dwarfed by the astounding 160% increase in hotel space that occurred in the past decade in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
