The National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, or Nareim, held a meeting of its Black Real Estate Roundtable to provide members with the opportunity to network.
The more than 60 members who gathered at Pier 57 in Manhattan last month were also encouraged to expand their networks and have tactful, if tough, conversations with mentors to advocate for new opportunities and promotions. Jamestown hosted the event in Google's space at the development.
The New York-based National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers was founded in 1990. The association provides an avenue for peer-to-peer networking, industry surveys and student programs.
The event was organized by Sanyu Kyeyune, head of programming at Nareim and founder of the Black Real Estate Roundtable.
Kyeyune was assisted by the group’s advisory committee, including members Thierry Yungenge, Shawn Kimble, Tishay Davis, Reginald Buford, Eugene Afranie, Ryan Simmons, Carl Boswell, Nylz Reyes, Richard Sodeke, Kevin McMahan, Reisa Bryan, Tamia Harris and Marvin Bacheaux, along with Natalie Mendell, Bradley Petersen and Alexandria Gonzalez.
