Hanson Bridgett LLP, a San Francisco-headquartered law firm with more than 200 attorneys across California, has renewed its 13,474-square-foot office lease at the Growers Square campus in downtown Walnut Creek. The building is owned by Rockwood Capital, a New York-based real estate investment management firm.
The renewal covers the top floor in Building 3 at 1676 N. California Blvd., a six-story, 87,770-square-foot office building completed in 1985. The Growers Square campus, a three-building office park totaling roughly 197,000 rentable square feet at North California Boulevard and Civic Drive in Walnut Creek's retail core, sits two blocks from the Walnut Creek BART station.
Rockwood Capital purchased the Growers Square complex in March 2018 for a reported $98 million from Invesco, a transaction that at the time represented a record price for an East Bay office building over 100,000 square feet outside of Oakland. Founded in 1995 and based in New York, Rockwood manages approximately $13.2 billion in commercial properties across the United States. In 2022, Colliers International Group acquired a majority stake in the firm.
Founded in 1958, Hanson Bridgett is an Am Law 200 firm with clients including Fortune 500 companies and public agencies. The firm's practice areas span real estate, land use, corporate law, litigation, labor and employment, health care and estate planning. The firm has six California locations.
For the record
Breck Lutz, Danny Bartz and Alexis Williams of Newmark and Knute Bucklew of JLL represented the landlord.
