Colliers continued an active Southern California expansion with the hiring of a three-person San Diego team focused on multifamily and land investment sales.
The real estate services firm snagged the trio from Marcus & Millichap. The team is headed by multifamily and land broker Aaron Bove, now an executive vice president with Colliers. Bove is joined by senior client service specialist Casey Sanders and senior associate Emily Jones.
The team “significantly boosts our multifamily and land advisory platforms in the region,” David Josker, Colliers’ West Region president, said in a statement. He said their experience “will allow them to make an immediate contribution to our rapidly growing San Diego business.”
San Diego has long been among the nation’s most-active apartment investment markets, though in recent years it has joined other regions experiencing slowing rent growth amid rapid new construction. The region posted $3.3 billion in apartment property sales during the past 12 months, rising 13.8% from the prior year, according to CoStar data.
Bove was with Marcus & Millichap for nearly 25 years, handling multifamily investments and redevelopment transactions and serving most recently as senior vice president of investments. In the Colliers statement, Bove said he decided to join Colliers for its “culture of collaboration” and its global reach, among other factors.
Jones’ prior work was focused on infill housing and urban development, serving in roles including director of real estate acquisitions at SDRE Homebuyers. Sanders will serve as the San Diego team’s operations liaison, coordinating property evaluations, marketing campaigns and related functions.
Colliers’ San Diego hirings come after the firm announced similar brokerage team expansions in nearby Los Angeles and Orange counties. Its new hires in those regions came from firms such as JLL and Northmarq.
Toronto-based Colliers also moved to expand its U.S. multifamily business with the recent acquisition of Dallas-based Greystone Sales Group.
