Real estate professionals across Northern California are preparing to take their bikes out for a spin again this fall to raise funds for City of Hope, the national cancer and infectious disease research hospital just outside of Los Angeles.
The annual Petaluma fundraising ride known as Bike to Hope is set to begin Oct. 17 at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds. It's become a tradition for some in the property business, with real estate executives participating for the past 13 years.
Property professionals, including Hudson Pacific Properties Chief Investment Officer Drew Gordon, pictured, are part of the City of Hope's Northern California Real Estate & Construction Council. They are hoping that more of their industry colleagues join the race this year.
The biking routes range from 14 miles to the 66-mile Metric Century Ride and provide cyclists with scenic vistas along the trails around Petaluma. The City of Hope hospital system is one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the country and a major research center for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses.
