AI firms account for most new office leases as San Francisco recovery gains traction

Artificial intelligence companies have emerged as the dominant force in San Francisco office leasing, with their share of new leases exceeding 50% in the second quarter of 2026, up from 45% in the first quarter of 2026 and increasing each quarter since the beginning of 2025. The rapid growth has helped fuel one of the strongest office market recoveries in the United States.
