Norm Taylor looks to pay it forward after returning to Colliers, where he launched his career as a real estate executive 25 years ago.

Taylor, who rejoined Colliers as executive vice president in the Vancouver office, left the company in 2010 after working for a decade in sales and leasing and earning his first executive position with the Toronto-based real estate services firm.

He went on to hold leadership roles at JLL, CBRE, CMLS Financial — and most recently, Newmark, where he ran the New York City-based firm’s Canadian brokerage business.

In his return to Colliers, Taylor will focus mainly on building the tenant representation business in the firm's office division. However, he also looks to help mentor young professionals in the office, drawing on his more than 30 years of industry experience.

“I grew the most as an individual in my prior decade with Colliers through mentorship, training and development,” Taylor told CoStar News. “Now, it is my time to pay that forward to the youth within the firm."

Taylor returns as Colliers, the world’s fourth-biggest real estate services firm by revenue, has expanded into engineering and other business lines that have fueled a jump in revenue in recent quarters.

"This was an easy decision," Taylor said. "Colliers is the strongest commercial real estate platform in Canada in terms of depth of service offering and breadth of market coverage."
