Cass UK CRE Lending Report: Lenders push on in H1

New lending for the first half of 2018 finished 27% ahead of volumes 12 months earlier and full year figures for loan origination are on course to top the past four years, with concerns over Brexit and falling investment figures yet to feed through materially to a cautious but confident commercial real estate financing industry, according to the latest Cass Report.

According to the market benchmark Cass Business School UK Commercial Real Estate Lending Report, H1 2018 origination hit £22.5bn for the first six months. The total for 2018 is now on target to exceed the £45-£55bn seen in the past four years, Cass said, despite a reported fall back in investment transactions.
