Labor Day calendar shift drives strongest hotel revenue gain of 2026

Industry sets record for rooms sold

U.S. hotel revenue per available room increased 16.1% year over year during the week ending Sept. 5, marking the industry's 22nd consecutive week of growth and the largest weekly RevPAR increase recorded in 2026. The result was positively impacted by the Labor Day calendar shift, as the holiday weekend fell one week later this year versus in 2025.
