Ted Baker bought its King's Cross headquarters, where it has been since 2001, in 2015. It said it had paid £55.25m for the block, known as "The Ugly Brown Building" to enable it to expand. It also secured the rights to purchase half of the building next door, which was vacant, for £5.1m.
