Brodtman on 2017's strong performers

The property market has confounded expectations this year, writes Michael Brodtman, CBRE’s Executive Director of Valuation Advisory.

Before the EU Referendum last June, the IPF Consensus Forecast was for a 2017 total return of 5.7%, with limited rental or capital growth. Immediately after the vote, this fell to just 0.6%. However, performance this year has been strong, with a total return in the first three quarters of over 8% including a capital uplift of 4%.
