London-based property firm The Portman Estate has chosen Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity as a corporate charity partnership.

The charity was selected following a vote by the estate’s employees, who will raise funding and awareness for the charity during a three-year partnership. Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children across the UK, as well as financial and emotional support services for families.

There are currently over 120 Roald Dahl nurses caring for more than 33,000 children living with complex, lifelong conditions. The Estate will fundraise in a variety of ways including sponsored walks, sporting challenges and bake sales, and is planning a corporate fundraising activity.

Katie Balderson, corporate director and estate secretary at The Portman Estate, said in a statement: "Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is an inspiring charity that goes above and beyond to provide for children with complex medical conditions and their families.

"We’re delighted that our employees were involved in choosing our next charity partner and everyone at the Estate is looking ahead to fundraising for the charity. We hope our efforts will help raise awareness for the incredible and specialist work that Roald Dahl Nurses provide for children in the UK."

Over the last three years, the Estate partnered City Harvest, raising over £30,000 to tackle food waste and hunger by providing food for Londoners who need it most. City Harvest is a London-based charity focused on rescuing food, people and the planet.
