Investment into UK foodstores reached £1.23bn in 2016, new research shows, fuelled by overseas investors and supermarket operators buying back control of their stores.

Operator-led transactions dominated the market accounting for nearly half of UK volumes (49%) at £590m, the latest reseach by Savills shows.
