Ben Speir has returned to Trinity Partners after more than a decade to head up its occupier services division in Charlotte, North Carolina, at a time he said office deals are becoming intricate.

Speir represents and advises office and industrial end-users, specializing in portfolio transaction strategy and management, financial analysis, lease negotiations, acquisitions and restructuring, according to the company. The move was effective Dec. 4.

Speir spent three years with Trinity as director of tenant advisory services before leaving in 2010 to join boutique real estate firm Cherry Spier as a partner. He also led his own firm, Speir Commercial.

“As the market and workplace evolve, deals are becoming more complex," Speir said in a statement. "It’s more important than ever to counsel clients throughout the lifecycle of their leasing experience and tenancy."

The 23-year industry veteran counts multiple law firms among clients served, including Am Law 100 and 200 firms. He has also exclusively represented the real estate portfolio of insurance defense firm McAngus Goudelock & Courie since 2011.
