After years of steep rent hikes driven by tight vacancy rates and fierce competition for housing, apartment landlords in Canada’s three largest cities are cutting asking rents to attract tenants, according to a new report issued by Statistics Canada, the national statistical office known as StatCan, which provides information on Canada's economy, society and environment.
