Unemployment rate in LA stays steady in February

Los Angeles jobless rate holds at 5.5% as the rest of the nation ticks up

The February employment report was released on April 17, reporting the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Los Angeles remained unchanged at 5.5% compared to January. The number of unemployed individuals month over month also held steady at 282,000. The only metric to significantly change was the civilian labor force, which experienced a slight month-over-month decrease of 6,000, reaching 5,126,000. While the unemployment rate for February remained stable month over month, February’s rate of 5.5% is an improvement compared to last February’s rate of 5.8%.
