Meyer Bergman buys 14 Spenhill sites from Tesco for £250m

Meyer Bergman has acquired fourteen Spenhill development sites across London, the South East and Bath from supermarket giant Tesco for £250m, earmarked for mixed-use properties including as much as and 10,000 homes by the private equity firm.

The disposals by Tesco are part of a wider scaling back of the supermarket giant’s ambition to develop 49 very large new stores earlier, following a two year period of turmoil for the company which has suffered falling sales and profit warnings.
