Jamaica Inn hotel sells

Jamaica Inn, the smuggler’s inn immortalised in Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name, has been sold.

The Inn in Cornwall, also once owned by the thriller-writer Alistair MacLean, has been acquired by first-time buyer Allen Jackson for a price in excess of the £2m sought by Christie + Co.
