Henderson Chinese designer outlet JV buys Shanghai site

Henderson has bought a development site in Pudong New District of Shanghai on behalf of its recently formed $500m Silk Road Holdings joint venture focused on investing in the Chinese designer outlet centre market.

Henderson’s joint venture - Silk Road Holdings launched in May of last year - brings together a group of specialist real estate investors including the Italian Fingen Group of the Fratini Family, the Luxemburg based China Outlet Mall controlled by Jacopo Mazzei, Gaw Capital Partners from Hong Kong, the Sino-US Waitex as well as a large-scale US institution.
