Bank of England leaves rates steady in narrow decision

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has voted to leave the UK Base Rate unchanged at 4% at its November meeting; but did so in a close-run decision, with the Governor using his casting vote. Five rate setters supported no change, while four preferred a 25 basis points reduction.
