Unemployment rises to a four-year high in San Diego

Local inflation tops the nation

San Diego’s unemployment rate climbed to its highest level since 2021 in July, according to the latest jobs report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The July rate of 5.2% was up from 4.9% in June, and it marked a 40-basis-point jump year over year. California’s statewide rate in July was 6.1%.
