Architecture firm 10 Design has made several new key senior hires, including appointing a new CEO and a prominent San Francisco architect to oversee its Bay Area practice.
In the wake of its union last year with San Francisco's SB Architects, the firm this year brought on a new principal, Bay Area architect Angela Wu, to help oversee its expanding Bay Area operations. Wu is the former director of West Coast operations for New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox, and her portfolio includes Brookfield’s 415 Natoma office tower in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood and The Rise in Cupertino.
“Wu strives to transform ordinary spaces into memorable design experiences, with a strong belief in creating built environments that enhance everyday life through comfort and convenience,” 10 Design said in a press release.
Wu and 10 Design have released a reimagining of the struggling San Francisco Centre mall as a series of open-air courtyards and pedestrian zones with a central plaza lined with retail and dining.
The San Francisco expansion comes about a year after 10 Design acquired the 65-year-old SB Architects.
The company also announced the appointment of Sabrina Klor as CEO. Klor will head the firm following almost two decades at United Kingdom-based architecture firm Broadway Malyan, most recently as chief operations officer. Klor will work out of the newly designated London headquarters, where she will oversee some 400 architects and designers there as well as offices in Hong Kong, San Francisco, Miami, Dubai, Edinburgh, Shenzhen and Singapore, the firm said in a press release.
10 Design launched in Hong Kong in 2010 and is part of the French multinational firm the Egis Group. It has designed resorts and residential developments around the world.
