RBS's £1bn property lending spree

Royal Bank of Scotland has already lent more than £1bn in new property loans over the first half of this year, including several big ticket deals worth up to £100m.

The lending activity, thought to span across prime and secondary as well as in London and outside the capital, puts them “in the top three of active lenders in terms of total volume of business transacted in the UK,” estimated William Newsom, UK head of valuation at Savills.
