JPMorgan’s planned 3 million-square-foot Canary Wharf headquarters is one of the clearest signs that, across the sector, major employers are still willing to put serious capital into their offices. Chairman and chief executive Jamie Dimon has been vocal that most roles work best in the office. The question is no longer whether offices matter, but if the buildings people return to actually support performance.
