Surrey is not an industrial market geared to national distribution, given its expensive land values and rents, its location south of London and its abundance of golf courses, but it nonetheless contains 28 million square feet of industrial space. Weak industrial leasing and rising vacancy have been the pattern of the last few years. However, several big recent lettings could signify a turnaround, while investors have stepped up interest.
