The Otay Mesa land border is the busiest port for imports between the U.S. and Mexico in California and the third busiest in the U.S., after the Texas markets of Laredo and El Paso. Despite a recent slowdown in truck traffic growth, the number of truck border crossings has already climbed significantly since before the pandemic.
