Private equity firm Sycamore Partners, which acquired 330 Family Dollar stores from Dollar Tree in 2015 as part of a divestiture settlement with the Federal Trade Commission, has asked the FTC for approval to sell the stores to Dollar General Corp., another competitor in the discount retail sector.
