Amazon is in talks to buy the former Pets at Home warehouse in Stoke-on-Trent from Brookfield Properties for an undisclosed sum.

The 275,815-square-foot warehouse is at 276 Stoke, Trentham Lakes on Stanley Matthews Avenue and was vacated last year.

Brookfield subsidiary Amatrix gained consent for a major new storage and distribution facility on the site earlier this year, with CBRE advising on leasing. CBRE is understood to have advised on the investment transaction.

The consent is for 149,188 square feet of storage, 4,553 square feet of office and a multi-storey van deck with nearly 700 van bays.

Brookfield and CBRE declined to comment. Amazon did not respond to a request for comment.
