British hotel firm Escapade, which specializes in Formula 1 trackside hotels and race-day hospitality, is upping gears with a second hotel.
On Jan. 16, it announced plans to open a 68-room hotel at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, 30 miles southeast of the Belgian city of Liège and approximately the same distance east of the German border.
Escapade will develop and manage the €30-million Belgian hotel, which is due to open along with several branded residences in 2028.
“Global interest in motorsport is growing fast … Escapade’s ability to distil the love of speed and performance into luxury hospitality and unique experiences is proving compelling, with further projects soon to be announced at a small number of the world’s most significant racetracks," Will Tindall, founder of Escapade and a former director of development and head of corporate finance at Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific Investment Partners, said.
Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, said the deal constitutes the largest foreign investment in the circuit’s history.
He added that “F1 (has) committed to racing at Spa-Francorchamps until at least 2031.”
The Belgium track is one of the original circuits for Formula 1, which had its inaugural season in 1950.
The hotel joins Escapade’s first hotel — in the firm’s home base — at the British Grand Prix Formula 1 track at Silverstone, the racing circuit in Towcester, Northamptonshire, 65 miles northwest of London.
Escapade Silverstone has 60 rooms, with CoStar data stating it “overlooks a stretch of Silverstone’s most notable set of corners. The front edge of the clubhouse and track-side residences are approximately 12 meters from the crash barrier.”
Escapade also manages the Silverstone property, which opened in spring 2025 in time for the 75th anniversary of the first British Grand Prix motor race. The British hotel’s owners are Toronto-based CPP Investments and Pittsburgh-based London-based Federated Hermes Ltd.
