Transwestern Real Estate Services expanded its Minneapolis services with the addition of Trinette Wacker and Katie Hopp as vice presidents. The company said it also added Joe Buckingham as an associate broker serving the region, as Transwestern forms a new leasing team focused on representing building owners in the city’s central business district.
Wacker has been a broker with Transwestern since 2022, having worked at Cushman & Wakefield before that. She entered commercial real estate in 2019 after serving in human resources executive jobs at companies such as Jacobs Marketing and Target. Hopp previously worked in property management at Transwestern after earlier roles at Cassidy Turley, now part of Cushman & Wakefield. Buckingham held prior roles at firms such as Vision Wealth Group and RBC.
SRS Real Estate Partners opened a new office in Brownsville, Texas, where it hired Louie Tijerina as a vice president of retail transactions, part of larger efforts to grow its services in South Texas. The company said Tijerina will focus on landlord and tenant representation in the Rio Grande Valley, after earlier work at CBRE and Hopkins Commercial Real Estate. SRS managing principal Webb Sellers said the Rio Grande region “continues to see meaningful retail growth driven by population gains, cross-border commerce and increased national retailer interest.”
NewMark Merrill Cos., a company that owns or manages more than 110 shopping centers nationwide, promoted Josh Ginsborg to vice president of capital markets. He is based in Dallas. The Calabasas, California-based company said Ginsborg will work with its acquisitions, development and operations teams, after prior work as its head of investor relations. He joined NewMark Merrill in 2022 after earlier roles at Poudre Partners, RSF Partners and Goldman Sachs.
Nikki Howell joined CBRE as executive vice president of business development on its valuation and advisory services team in Los Angeles. CBRE said Howell will focus on advisory services in the Pacific Southwest. She brings 15 years of experience in commercial lending, valuation and related investment services, with earlier work at Archway Capital and Bank of the West.
Net-lease real estate advisory and investment firm Surmount hired Scott Budzenski as managing director of capital markets, as part of an ongoing expansion in California, the New York-based company said. Budzenski is based in the firm's new Los Angeles office. His decade of experience includes work at CBRE and Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp.
Farbman Group, focused on Midwest commercial real estate, hired Michael O’Malley as executive vice president for its Illinois services, based in its Chicago office. The Farmington Hills, Michigan-based company said O’Malley’s two-decade career includes serving as managing director at investment firm Pearlmark.
Richie Dinets joined real estate investment firm Stockdale Capital Partners as managing director and general counsel. The Los Angeles-based company said Dinets will lead regulatory, compliance and related legal functions and serve on its management committee. He brings more than 15 years of experience, working most recently at Tishman Speyer as managing director and general counsel for its Western U.S. region.
Ekta Patel was appointed as chief operating officer at real estate investment firm 11North Partners. Based at the company’s New York headquarters, Patel joined 11North from Bain Capital Real Estate after earlier work at AEW and Brookfield.
