Permira-owned Westbridge Advisory, an energy and sustainability adviser in the real estate sector, has named JLL global Chief Executive and President Christian Ulbrich as the chair of its advisory board.

Ulbrich assumed the role at the start of this month.

“He brings not only extensive and long-standing industry experience but also a keen sense for strategic growth opportunities,” said Yama Mahasher, chief executive officer of Westbridge.

Mahasher added that Ulbrich's “appointment as a strategic advisor will be an important support for us, along with our owner Permira, in driving forward with our expansion plans and entering new markets.”

The move comes as the commercial real estate industry has been focused on making buildings more energy efficient for both conservation purposes as well as the benefits of cost reductions for heating and cooling.

Ulbrich has been leading Chicago-based JLL for almost 10 years. Westbridge said that during this time he has significantly advanced JLL’s investments in technology and sustainability.

He is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council and its Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders. He has previously served on a number of supervisory and advisory boards.

Westbridge, an energy and sustainability consultant to the European real estate industry, has 170 staff at office locations in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Zurich, Warsaw and London.
