Growing off-price retailer Burlington Stores has revamped about half of its brick-and-mortar retail fleet, with its remaining locations expected to convert to the new format by the end of 2026.
The New Jersey-based company plans to hold in-store celebrations in 21 markets from Friday through Sunday — with sweepstakes and giveaways for customers — to mark the rollout of the refreshed look. Burlington operated 1,115 locations as of the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2025 in 46 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
Burlington has been in an expansion mode, and all of its new stores will have the new design, according to the company.

Retailers periodically update their stores, and Burlington is no exception. Discount giant Walmart and even Amazon’s grocery chain, Amazon Fresh, have been reimagining their stores, making many of the changes that Burlington is doing, such as widening aisles.
Burlington’s new store layout aims “to enhance the customer experience” with organized aisles, an open layout that makes it easier to find brands, and signage that showcases the latest trends.
“Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive,” Burlington CEO Michael O’Sullivan said in a statement.
As an off-price retailer, Burlington sells in-season, branded merchandise at up to 60% off traditional retail prices, including women’s apparel, menswear, youth and baby clothes, beauty products, footwear, accessories, home decór, toys, gifts and coats.
The celebration events will take place at participating stores in cities including Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
