Falcone Group Chief Operating Officer Alfonso Costa Jr. has received the 2024 Young Leader of the Year award from the Urban Land Institute for his contributions to the real estate industry and communities of Southeastern Florida.
“This award is truly a reflection of our company as a whole,” Costa said in a statement.
ULI said the Young Leader of the Year award recognizes industry professionals 35 or younger "whose outstanding achievements and contributions are advancing the industry and positively shaping our region’s communities."
At Falcone Group, Costa oversees multifamily development, public-private partnerships and strategic initiatives, including a more than $1 billion development pipeline that contains more than 2,000 residential units and 200,000 square feet of retail and self-storage space. The projects include Block C-East at Miami WorldCenter.
Prior to joining Falcone, Costa served as deputy chief of staff and opportunity zone lead for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and taught fifth grade through Teach for America. The Falcone Group, headquartered in South Florida, has built a multifamily portfolio consisting of more than 30,000 apartments nationwide.
He is a member of numerous charitable organizations including the Heart & Spirit Society of the Boca Helping Hands nonprofit group and Jacob’s Shoes of Hope Heroes. He also serves as chair of ULI Florida’s Affordable & Workforce Housing Council.
