Before airfares took off, US residents traveled abroad

Higher airfares are expected to constrain travel to and from US, outside World Cup months this summer

Compared with the first quarter of last year, more Americans traveled internationally, though the increase was just 1.6%. Meanwhile, international arrivals to the U.S. continued to decrease during the first quarter of this year. The war in Iran, which affected travel flows in March, contributed to these shifts.
