Prior to the pandemic, there was a concerted effort to revitalize Sacramento’s downtown core. The construction of the Golden1 Center and neighboring Sawyer Hotel quickly changed the perception of the area, drawing people to events and the surrounding retail establishments. Additionally, office vacancy was then at an all-time low and developers were close to breaking ground on new buildings.
