Annua Signature to open fifth hotel

On July 1, family office Sasiambarrena on will debut its sixth Annua Signature hotel with opening of the Gran Hotel Margalida on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

Juventus nets Turin hotel

Juventus FC, the famed Italian football club, acquired the 138-room J Hotel, adjacent to the club’s Turin stadium, from real estate management firm Ream SGR Spa for €23 million. Juventus’ Allianz Stadium Juventus has 41,147 seats.

Lux Collective agrees five hotels across Rwanda

Operator Lux Collective and Rwandan owner Cleo Capital Group have signed an agreement to open Lux’s brands Lux* and Salt across five properties in Rwanda, effectively creating a tourism circuit of the country. There are two phases in the agreement — the first will see in the summer the rebranding of the Cleo Lake Kivu into the Lux* Lake Kivu and the Akagera Game Lodge into the Salt of Akagera, while the second phase in 2028 will see three new-build developments, Lux* Volcanoes, Lux* Nyungwe and Lux* Akagera.

Ennismore and Yamed to open Marrakech Delano hotel

Accor joint venture partner Ennismore and owner Yamed, part of Ynexis Group, will open Africa’s first Delano-branded hotel in Marrakech, Morocco. The Delano Marrakech Hotel & Residences will open in 2030 with 130 rooms and joins Delano’s two other hotels, one in Dubai, the other in its home of Miami.

MGallery now has Greek quartet

MGallery Hotel Collection has opened its fourth Greek hotel — following on from two in Athens and one in Crete — with the 35-room Kove Hotel & Spa Mykonos MGallery Collection. On the Cyclades island of Mykonos, the hotel is owned by family office Daktylides.

RBH takes over reins at Radisson Liverpool

Operator RBH Hospitality Management has been appointed to take over management of the 194-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Liverpool, which is its third hotel in the home city of The Beatles. Yianis Group owns the property.

Radisson opens Timisoara Individuals

Radisson Hotel Group has opened the 48-room Hotel Galaxy Timisoara, Radisson Individuals in Timisoara, Romania, which in 2023 was the European Capital of Culture.

Hermitage joins Italy’s Starhotels

Italian hotel group Starhotels Collezione has reopened the Hermitage Hotel & Resort following its April 2025 acquisition of the property. In Forte dei Marmi on the Ligurian coast of Italy just south of Genoa, the hotel has 59 rooms.

Hilton signs two brand debuts in two European countries

Hilton will debut two of its brands in two new European markets. Later this year, Italy will have its first Spark by Hilton hotel with the opening of the 118-room Spark by Hilton Milan Linate Airport. Then, in 2028, the 215-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Madrid Retiro will see the Home2 Suites brand come to Spain for the first time.

Minor opens first Colbert Collection-branded hotel

On May 12, Minor Hotels opened the 70-room Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, Colbert Collection, its first hotel within its new Colbert Collection brand to open anywhere in the world. The Florence hotel is in a building that can date its history to 1386 and the beginning of the silk trade in Renaissance Italy. Minor also says the hotel might well be the oldest in all of Italy, with its “oldest” room being a suite in its medieval tower. By the end of the year, this hotel will be joined by sibling The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, Colbert Collection, which will have 50 rooms in a Grade II-listed building.

Four Seasons opens at Shura Island

The Red Sea Development Co. and Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund Kingdom Holding opened the 180-room Four Seasons Resort & Residences Red Sea at Shura Island on May 20. Owned in a 50-50 split, the 2.6 billion Saudi Arabian riyal (€590 million) resort received debt financing from Saudi bank Riyad. The property is the 11th hotel at the Red Sea Global giga-project to have opened.

IHG signs first Vignette in Canary Wharf

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed its first soft-branded Vignette Collection hotel to London’s Canary Wharf district. The 142-room Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG, will open this summer and is owned by Yianis Group.

Balder acquires €40 million Tampere hotel

In May, investment firm Balder Management Finland paid for €40 million to acquire the 273-room Lapland Hotel Tampere Arena in Tampere, Finland, from a Finnish consortium comprising Ilmarinen, LähiTapiola, OP Financial Group and SRV Group. Lapland Hotels City operates the hotel, which opened in 2021, under a long-term lease.

Second Cavallino resort opens near Venice

Owned by Cavallino Bianco Caorle S.r.l., the 101-suite Cavallino Bianco Caorle-Venezia opened on May 1 in the coastal town of Caorle, 35 northwest from Venice. The resort is a sibling to the Cavallino Bianco Val Gardena Dolomiti in Ortisei, located in the Italian province of South Tyrol.

Dalata debuts Croke Park hotel

Hotel firm Dalata Hotel Group and owner McAleer & Rushe opened on May 14 the 200-room Maldron Hotel Croke Park, Dalata’s 21st hotel in Dublin. The Maldron brand now has 27 hotels and 4,618 guest rooms across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Evok to debut Saint-Tropez resort next April

Evok Collection plans to debut the 55-room Nolinski Golfe de Saint-Tropez next April in Gassin, France, a rural destination adjacent to the famed coastal town of Saint-Tropez. Zaka Investments and family office Famille C Participations — both have significant investment also in Evok Collection itself — are behind the property, which they acquired in May 2024.

Denmark’s Cori Hornbæk to welcome guests in August

The 77-room Cori Hornbæk Hotel will open soon on the north coast of the Danish island of Sjælland, 35 miles north of capital Copenhagen. The property is seven miles northwest of Helsingør, the home of Hamlet’s UNESCO-listed castle, Elsinore, known in Danish as Kronborg. The hotel, which is owned by Copenhagen-based COPI Group, also offers five townhouse-style apartments.

Marriott opens Budapest Moxy

Marriott International has opened the 281-room Moxy Budapest Downtown on the Hungarian capital’s Kazinczy Street. Local firm Forestay Group owns the hotel.

Chester hotel signed as Accor Handwritten brand

Later this summer, The Queen at Chester Hotel is to become part of Accor soft brand Handwritten Hotels. The 218-room hotel in Chester, Cheshire, sits opposite the city’s central rail station and, until the handover with Luxembourg-based owner Vivion Investments, currently trades as part of BWH Hotels’ BW Premier Collection.

IHG debuts Noted Collection in UK

IHG has signed its first hotel in the U.K. under new brand Noted Collection with owner Surya Hotels, a division of Flying Trade Group. To open next year in the county of Hertfordshire, just north of London, the Theobalds Estate, Noted Collection by IHG, includes 17th and 18th century buildings with Royal Family connections. A full refurbishment is in operation and as yet no room count has been announced.

Leonardo opens Amsterdam Manor hotel

Leonardo Hotel Group, part of Fattal Hotels, opened in early June the 125-room Manor Amsterdam, a Leonardo Limited Edition, its ninth property in The Netherlands’ cultural capital. In the Amsterdam-Oost (“East”) district of the city, the property is a conversion of the former, more simply named Manor Amsterdam, with its owner remaining EH Hotel Management B.V.
