Global real estate investment adviser Eastdil Secured has hired Nick Lavin as a director of the firm's national housing group in Miami.
In his new role, Lavin will be responsible for leading the company’s Florida multifamily practice and supporting Eastdil Secured's work across the greater Sun Belt region. Eastdil Secured opened its Miami location at 1001 Brickell Bay Drive in 2022, bringing on Matt DeAtley as managing director in the process.
“Our Florida practice has grown significantly over the past three years, as we have continued to invest in our team and capabilities in the region,” said D. Michael Van Konynenburg, president of Eastdil Secured, in a press release from the firm. In Florida alone, the company is on track to advise on nearly $10 billion in deals this year, he said.
Lavin joins with over 10 years of experience in multifamily real estate advisory services, including investment sales and equity and debt placement. Throughout his career, he has worked with private and institutional clients and most recently served as a senior director at JLL Capital Markets.
Lavin is expected to be an “invaluable asset” as Eastdil Secured continues to strengthen its position locally, Van Konynenburg added in the release.
“I have seen firsthand how deep relationships and local expertise drive results for multifamily owners and investors, and I look forward to maintaining this focus in one of the most dynamic housing markets in the country,” said Lavin in the release.
South Florida's multifamily sales are returning to pre-pandemic levels, according to CoStar. Miami has recorded $2 billion in sales over the past year while the annual volume in Fort Lauderdale stands at $1.6 billion and totals $1.4 billion in Palm Beach, according to CoStar.
