The completion of a long list of tasks involved in the redevelopment of fintech company NCino's new headquarters garnered the praise of the Wilmington, North Carolina real estate community, earning it a 2023 CoStar Impact Award
Cloud Real Estate Holdings, a joint venture of three local companies, pulled off a full reimagining of a corporate campus in two years, culminating in the opening of NCino's new headquarters at 6770 Parker Farm Dr. in November.
The financial-technology company's CEO told a local media outlet that the company always wanted to remain in the small city, even as the company expanded. The firm's employees liked NCino's location next to the private Landfall Golf Club and near the small community of Wrightsville Beach.
The redevelopment job had several facets. It required the renovation of NCino's existing building at the Mayfaire mixed-use development, construction of a new 90,000-square-foot building in the same community, a new parking deck and a new employee amenity area.
About the project: JLL administered a request for proposals to redevelop a portion of the Mayfaire district to serve as the headquarters for NCino. A joint venture between SHP Acquisitions, Cameron Management and Trask Land Co. — all based in Wilmington — was the winning bidder. The total cost for the project was $56.5 million.
What the judges said: "Hands down, the best development of the year in our market," said Spruill Thompson, senior vice president at Cape Fear Commercial.
The development "fits into New Hanover County's strategy of self-contained nodes where residents can live, work and play without the need for long commutes," said Adam Jones, an economics professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
They made it happen: The team behind this project included Hill Rogers at Cameron Management, Raiford Trask III at Trask Land Co., and SHP Acquisitions.
